WORSHIP

First United Methodist Church is a church where persons are experiencing the transforming power of God's Spirit. Vital worship is the center of our existence. In worship we are praising, giving thanks, and offering ourselves in living sacrifice to God.  All people are welcomed and encouraged to respond to God at work in their lives.

We invite you to join us in worshiping the Living Christ!

Missions

Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all nations...." Matthew 28:19

There are many opportunities to serve God and our brothers and sisters through our local, national, or international missions.  God gives each of us the authority and the gifts to use to help fulfill the Great Commission. Go and serve the Lord our God.

If you feel led to serve and would like more information on any of the missions below, please contact the church office at 601-947-8132.

Local Missions Food Pantry

Each Tuesday from 9:30 a.m.  - 12:30 p.m., our doors are open to interview, provide food, and counseling to needy families in our community.

Praise in the Park

First United Methodist has many members, led by Jay & Kim Davis, that plan, organize, and execute this annual Christian Music Festival in Lucedale City Park.

Praise in the Park Christian Music Celebration has as a purpose to promote the unconditional, life-changing Love of Jesus Christ to the youth and adults of our community and region. The Celebration will lift His name through Spirit-filled events, musicians, and speakers. The Celebration will provide a means to share the Love of Christian Music with the lost of the world and the opportunity for them to invite Jesus to be the Lord of their lives.

Angel Tree

Each Advent we encourage individuals, families, classes, and business to adopt a child's Christmas list. Participants shop and pay for their "angel." This is likely the only gifts the child will receive.

Doorstep Visitors

Each week our visitors receive information about our church on their doorstep by dedicated members of our congregation. If you would like to be a Doorstep visitor, please call the church office at 601-947-8132.

Kingdom Kids Summer of Service

Our children participate in service projects around our community by helping clean and weed flower beds, visit nursing homes and assisted living facilities, etc. The children have been so involved that the program will be continued through the year on the first Wednesday of each month.

Alzheimer's Support Group

Caregivers, family members, and those with Alzheimer's meet the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Calico House to share information, provide support, and fellowship.

5th Sunday Fellowship

All are welcome to join in the food, fun, and fellowship on the 5th Sunday in the Christian Life Center at 6:00 p.m. Dinner is potluck - so bring you favorite dish and join us!
